LITTLE GENESEE -- John S. Faulkner, 78, of Willow Brook Road, passed away Sunday (Feb. 24, 2013) in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, following a brief illness.

Born Dec. 11, 1934, in the town of Wirt, he was a son of John D. and Mary Dick Faulkner.

He married the former Ruth M. Keech on Dec. 17, 1955, in Richburg. Mrs. Faulkner preceded him in death on Feb 7, 1999.

John was a graduate of the Richburg Central School class of 1953. He was employed by Dresser-Rand in Olean for 35 years as a machinist, retiring in 1995. John also was employed by the Bolivar Post Office as a letter carrier for 22 years, retiring in 1998.

Along with his wife, he owned and operated the Country Ranch Pizza Shop in Richburg from 1992 to 1995. From 2003 to 2010, he was employed by Napa Auto Parts, Olean.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Kenyon Andrus Post 772, American Legion, Bolivar.

John enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are five children, Gary (Tina Shaffer) Faulkner of Richburg, Kim (Lorrie) Faulkner of Richburg, Debbie Goodliff of Richburg, Suky Faulkner of Richburg and Dean Faulkner of Cresson, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his fiancé, Sylvia Pettit of Little Genesee; three brothers, Don Dick Faulkner of Richburg, Jerry (Carol) Faulkner of Friendship, Duane (Sumiko) Faulkner of Richburg; and one sister, Molly Bishop of Richburg; several nieces and nephews; and his loving dogs, Bandit and Willow.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar, and Thursday (Feb. 28, 2013) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the West Clarksville Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11 a.m. with Pastor Leslie Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
