BOLIVAR - Maxine L. Antoon, formerly of 150 N. Main St., passed away Sunday (Dec. 29, 2013) at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw, surrounded by family.

Born in June 1918 to Irving and Eva Pendleton Swarthout, she was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School. She and her former husband, Louis Antoon, owned a drive-in custard stand on Bolivar Road. Later, they owned an appliance store, also located in Bolivar.

She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church. Max enjoyed reading, playing cards and Sunday picnics with her family.

Maxine is survived by her sister, Joan Dunning; nieces who resided with her, Jane, Lori and Susan; as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Jim, Irving Jr. and Robert; and four sisters, Helen Goff, Mary Swarthout Betty Decewicz and Athelene Wight.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2014) at Schaffner Funeral Home in Bolivar, with memorial services to immediately follow, led by the Rev. Vicky Hedlunch.
