BOLIVAR - Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister

Marilyn S. Lee of 119 Plum St. passed away Saturday June 27, 2015 at the home of her daughter following a lengthy illness. She was born August 23, 1934 in Blossburg, PA. The daughter of Earl and Daisy Brace Shaw Sr., she married Donald E. Lee in February of 1956. Mr. Lee preceded her in death in 2005.

Marilyn was a graduate of the Mansfield PA High School and a graduate of the Elmira Business School. Following graduation she was employed as a secretary at Mansfield State University. Moving to Bolivar in 1959, Marilyn started working at the Citizens National Bank as a teller, later served as Manager at Key Bank Offices in Olean and Bolivar, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and a charter member of Bolivar Lioness Club. She served on the Board of Directors of the Bolivar Free Library, Kenyon Andrus Post # 772 American Legion Aux and member of Allegany County American Legion Aux and served as an officer.

Surviving are 3 daughters; Dixie (Mike) Church of Alma, NY, Julie (Rick) Paul of Lexington Park, MD and Terrie (Steve) Morrison of Bolivar, NY. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; Andrew Church, Chelsea Church, Stephanie Mitchell, Brian (Danielle) Paul, Erin (Jason) Moore, Megan Matheny, Teresa (Kirk) Osgood, Collin (Taylor) Morrison, Caitlin Morrison, and 8 great grandchildren. Four brothers; Dick (Paulie) Shaw, Dallas, TX, Byron (Barb) Shaw, Painted Post, NY, Gayle (Barb) Shaw, Horseheads, NY, Harold Shaw, Mansfield, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Daryl Shaw, Robert Shaw, Earl Shaw Jr., Leland Shaw and 4 sisters; Phyllis “Laree” Coates, Roberta Vaughn, Alice Scott and Virginia Erway.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 2, 2015 at 1pm in the Bolivar United Methodist Church, Rev David Herne officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be to: SPCA Serving Allegany County, 1374 Route 19A Wellsville, NY 14895. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar, NY.
