Betty J. Rossman
1929-2016
BOLIVAR - Betty J. Rossman 87 of 98 Friendship Street passed away Monday October 3, 2016 in the
Jones Memorial Hospital Wellsville following a lengthy illness. Betty was born on August 14, 1929 in
Richburg, NY. She was the daughter of Clifford and Leah Boucher Lounsberry. Betty married Lawrence
W. Rossman on June 5, 1948 in Little Genesee, Mr. Rossman survives.
She was employed by Bolivar Central School in the Cafeteria Department for twenty-five years prior to
her retirement in 1991. Betty was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Randall (Vicki) Rossman of Olean and Carol
(Randy) Besler of Bradford, PA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by a son Steven Rossman in 1973, one sister Pauline Paffie in 1986, and one
brother Donald Lounsberry in 1994.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar on Friday October 7, 2016 from 2-4 PM.
Funeral services will be held following visitation at 4PM. with Rev. Richard Hurd pastor of the Bolivar
United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
Memorials made to Bolivar Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund, 460 Main St., Bolivar, N.Y. 14715 would be
appreciated by the family.
