1936-2016
Raphine VA. - Geraldine A. Cook 80 of 705 Lofton Rd. and a former Bolivar resident passed away
Monday December 19, 2016 in the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy
illness. She was born on May 3, 1936 in Austin Pa. she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel Champlin
Lananger. Geraldine married Isaac Cook on August 23, 1953. Mr. Cook preceded her in death on
December 22, 1986.
Geraldine was employed by the Bolivar Central School in the cafeteria dept. from 1969 until her
retirement in 1998.
Surviving are four children; Isaac (Susan Connor) Cook Raphine VA, Linda (Robert) Simpson O’Fallon IL,
Judy (Tim) Carlin Wellsville, Beth Cook Churchville VA, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three Sisters; Jean Stives Bolivar, Patricia Jackson Friendship and Joyce
(Oscar) Gains Bolivar, three Brothers; Charles Lananger Bolivar, Thomas (Mary) Lananger Bolivar,
Stephen (Donna) Lananger Shinglehouse PA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral and Committal services will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 1P.M. in the Schaffner
Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar. Rev. David Herne of the Heritage AFlame Ministries will officiate. Burial will
be in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
Memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
